It is easy to state that almost everyone around the world has at least one mobile phone. Recent calculations suggest that there are over 2.7 billion handsets in use everyday. The handsets you can purchase come in a variety of shapes, designs, colours, styles and with varying applications. Is it possible that your mobile phone says something specific about you?What are the most popular brands and who favours them most?

Research seems to suggest that the kind of mobile you buy tells others a lot about you. For example, those who are into gadgets will have the current phones available so that they can play with all the accessories and gadgets that come with the mobile. Cost is no issue; it is no different to them having to have the latest games console or mp3 player! Comparably, those who like to go out at weekends will need a handset that is dependable enough to endure being dropped on the dance floor.Fashion conscious types will have a mobile phone which allows them alter the fascias- most likely to match their recently bought outfit. It is also likely that this type of personality will want a mobile that allows for free ringtones and free themes so that their mobile phone can be changed to match their clothes and mood.

These are just some of the types of personality traits that can supposedly determine the type of handset that you buy. So does the brand that you buy depend upon your personality too? – well the answer to this is yes! It is stated that LG’s are preferred by mums, middle- managers prefer the Nokia range and everyone under the age of 24 prefers a Motorola model. It seems that different types of customers are attracted to certain types of mobiles.

It seems that as mobile phones become more advanced and more common, it is more important to us what type of phone we purchase. It essentially does not matter which provider you are with; the main concern is what other people see when they look at your handset. This may certainly appear true, particularly for the younger generation. They want an current model that has a vast amount of functions. Whether it is being able to download a free ringtone or free theme, use Bluetooth, play games or access the internet, the type of phone you own is of particular importance to teenagers and twenty-somethings.
