HTC Hero Video Review

How The HTC Hero Has Changed Android

Intro

The HTC Hero cell phone is the eastern technology business 3rd phone powered by Google’s Android mobile phone operating system, & the premier to pack its revolutionary Sense UI, giving Android a brand new lick of ultra-intuitive paint. As well as the new software program, there is also a 3.2″ touch screen, GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, digital compass, 5{MP camera~5Megapixel digital camera, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, digital compass~digital compass, Wi-Fi, GPS, HSDPA, 5Mega Pixel digital camera} and a microSD slot to add memory.

What Is Good

It’s just been a few calendar months since the HTC Magic, but the spring forwards HTC’s made in the meanwhile is extraordinary. That’s due to the new Sense UI on top of Android OS. HTC’s inundated in tons more widgets to place on your home screen - of which there are now several, so you can switch ‘tween study and fun, and even have your personal Twitter updates feeding through. The capacitive touchscreen on the Hero meantime is an absolute delight to use, and typewriting in either orientation is smooth thanks to auto correct for most often in use words. On the outside, the HTC Hero’s teflon covering is near fully fingermark resistant, the electric battery will last all day and building on the Magic, there’s regular 3.5mm audio for your own headphones. w00t!!

What Is Bad

As shiny as the Hero looks, HTC could still improve the hardware a bit more. The photographic camera lacks a flash, the trackball feels cheesy, and that lip on the bottom juts out. While it feels fine in the hand, it’s a really annoyance in your pocket. The Sense look meanwhile irons out a lot of issues with Google’s Operating system, but video is still Google Android’s weak part. For a mobile handset touting Flash support, movie playback in several file type is worryingly rough, and codec support somewhat bounded compared to Samsung premier phones or even newer BlackBerries.

The Verdict

With the HTC Hero, Android has at long last come of age. It’s nearly the full smartphone bundle now, assisted no end by HTC’s software rejigging and nice and sexy design overflowing with modern hardware. Apple iPhone, if you’re hearing, aft 2 long years, you’ve got a serious contender finally.
